The Numbers Dont Lie.

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men. It affects tradies, dads, athletes, and everyday blokes across the country.

The signs can be easy to miss or brush off, which is exactly why knowing what to look for, and getting checked regardless, matters. Early detection is one of the biggest factors in survival, and a simple blood test could be the difference.

Know The Signs

Prostate cancer often shows no symptoms in its early stages, which is exactly why regular check-ups matter, not just watching for warning signs. That said, it's still worth knowing what to look out for. If you notice any of the following, don't ignore it, speak to your doctor.

Frequent urination, especially at night

Difficulty starting or stopping urination

Weak, slow, or interrupted urine flow

Blood in urine or semen

Pain or burning during urination

Pain in the lower back, hips, or pelvis

GET YOURSELF CHECKED

How Do I Get Checked?

Many men avoid getting checked because they assume it means an uncomfortable physical exam.

In reality, the first step is usually just a simple blood test, called a PSA test, that checks your prostate specific antigen levels. It's quick, it's routine, and it's often all that's needed.

Whether you're experiencing symptoms or not, if you're over 50 (or over 40 with a family history of prostate cancer), it's time to talk to your doctor.
